WHO AM I?
I'm Liam Hunter, I’m a fine artist and tattoo artist currently based in Selby, Uk. I have spent the last (almost) 20 years tattooing throughout the UK, Europe and the U.S. My creative journey began probably before I could walk. I learned portraiture at a younger age, drawing those smooth, almost porcelain portraits of my grandfathers RAF squadron from the Second World War. I drew throughout my entire childhood, and discovered the dark art of oil painting. From there, through a love of hip hop and art, I began graffiti writing and from there I enrolled in Bradford college of art where I rediscovered my love of fine art, from here I was given the opportunity to take on a tattoo apprenticeship. From then on, it’s pretty much all i’ve ever known. Tattooing is not only my profession, it’s also my passion. I live and breath my work, and pride myself on putting all of myself into every tattoo I do.
You will find me tattooing at Burns Ink, in Selby. My approach towards tattooing comes from my understanding of fine art, and of light, shadow, values and proportions, and through my understanding of tattooing, I use techniques involving flow, and body composition to create tattoos that not only look great, but also have the staying power to heal well and look amazing for years to come!
Throughout my 20 years of tattooing, combined with my love for fine art, and photography, I view your tattoo as its own piece of fine art, which I will together with you to create something you will be proud of for years to come! Each tattoo has its own inherent value to each and every person and I will work with you to create the best piece of artwork for you!
